A creative programme inspired by the seasons

Here at Lightbear Lane we enjoy doing things in tune with nature. We like to celebrate the changing of the seasons and the special quality each time of the year holds. This has always informed our creative programme and this year more than ever. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do producing and creating it.

We start the cultural season with our new concert series. For three magical evenings (25th September, 19th November and 19th February), Duo Tutti will perform music for the full moon. Expect pieces that evoke autumn, harvest and thanksgiving, frosty nights and snowy days with music from your favourite composers and a number of new compositions, too.

A year ago we set up our Lit Lab and we’re delighted to continue running these monthly gatherings. Holding this space has proven to be important for literary and cultural dialogue and conversation and it is always exciting to get to know the people sitting down with us around the table for ideation, feedback and discussion.

We love long summer evenings but we will make the most of the longer nights in October. We are delighted to present to you Exeter’s Only … Magic Lantern Show! If you aren’t excited yet (or don’t know what Magic Lanterns are), read more here.

You will already have heard about our new production of Macbeth with Wild Thyme Theatre this November. So many of you have suggested to stage the Scottish play at St Nicholas Priory and what better month than November to go ahead and do it.

For the festive season, we’re planning a Lit Lab Special and we have A Quiet New Year’s Concert for you in the programme. We’ll be wassailing together in January before we finish our winter programme in February with the last of our concert series. After that, it’ll be all hands on deck for the South West Shakespeare Festival in April.

But for now, let’s harvest the fruits of summer and enjoy autumn. We’ll see you soon at our events.
