Titus Andronicus

We love Shakespeare and there is nothing quite as exciting as excellent people coming forward with ideas and asking us how they can become reality. It’s one of the most exciting things about producing – you start with an idea and make is real.

Charlie Coldfield and Micha Colombo had such an idea and the end result was our semi-staged performance (script-in-hand) of Titus Andronicus at St Nicholas Priory, one of the few surviving medieval monasteries in Devon. With original music before the show, a popular bar and a chance for the audience to explore the building, the show was sold out and the evening a success. The show then went on to be selected for the Exeter Northcott Theatre’s Elevate Festival – drinks all round!

  • Well done and bring on more!

Titus Andronicus was a revelation! Never read the play or knew much about it. You certainly gave life to it. Took a short while to get the characters but was very soon absorbed in the unfolding drama. What a story but made all the more dramatic by the actors. I was almost unaware that often the actors were reading the script – I felt I was at a full performance, so that must be testament to your skills. I would certainly recommend this type of dramatisation of Shakespeare. I loved it! Even though the content was pretty ghastly.

Well done and bring on more.
